Marchen is setting for my upcoming novel The Land of Nod. An altered reality where legends and fables are this worlds history, only the events of the stories are over and it's now in the midst of an industrial boom, transiting from the traditional old world Medieval settings to a steampunk early 19th century feel. With the increase of civilization and the damage to the natural environment, this breaks the coexistence to both the human kingdoms and the forest folk. A race of magical beings that inhabit the vast wilderness of forests.
